Become part of the Active Seniors! 

Come along and join in with Diana’s Active Seniors group. This class aims to improve strength, balance and endurance while having lots of fun! 

Diana offers classes at Matua Hall that cater to various mobility levels.

  • Wednesday, 9:30 am*, and Thursday, 9:30 am: These are intermediate-level classes suitable for individuals with reasonable mobility who feel comfortable engaging in physical activity.
  • Thursday, 10:45 am: This is a beginner-level class designed for those with more limited mobility or who feel unsure about participating in physical activity. Participants of this class benefit from increased support due to smaller class sizes.

Please Note: Bookings are essential for the Wednesday, 9:30 am class. Kindly contact Diana prior to attending.

What to expect 

  • Warm-Up: Begin each session with a gentle warm-up to prepare your muscles and joints for the exercises ahead. 
  • Strength Training: Engage in exercises designed to build muscle strength and endurance, targeting key areas such as legs, arms, and core. 
  • Balance: Practice a variety of balance exercises to improve stability and reduce the risk of falls. These exercises are specifically selected to challenge and strengthen your balance abilities. 
  • Flexibility and Mobility: Incorporate stretches and mobility exercises to enhance flexibility, promoting greater range of motion and joint health.  

Who can join 

This class is suitable for older adults of all fitness levels who are looking to improve their physical well-being in a welcoming and inclusive setting. Whether you're new to exercise or looking to maintain your current level of fitness, our certified instructors will provide modifications and encouragement to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.  

What to bring and wear 

Come along to class wearing whatever clothes you feel comfortable moving in. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Plenty of free parking available.
